        Finally got most things together but I cannot see how it can fit into the specified case which I now have.

        The EZ81 is 77.8mm tall and the case is 80mm leaving no room for PCB thickness/holder/clearance.

        I guess I could use an EZ80 instead, or mount the EZ 81 horizontally.

        How tall are your EZ81s?

        Which manufacturer are they – perhaps smaller than mine?

          I have used a JJ tube, it’s 77.8 mm tall.
          The EZ80 has lower current, but it should work.
          I would mount the EZ81 horizontally.

                    I am extremely happy with it – an very noticeable upgrade to TWTSSB V1.

                    More “lifelike”, instrument placing is clearer, more detail, more of the recording audible.

                    I would definitely recommend.
